Here are
the numbers in front of the passenger side head.... V0525CGC
11J203468 Cast number 3970010
I know that
it's not numbers matching but I would still like to know as much info about the
engine as possible. I know it's been rebuilt / remanufactured because there is
a tag located on the drivers side of the block (see pic below) no company name.
It also has the over-heat buttons on the freeze plugs.
So far I
have found that 3970010 means a 350, the CGC is the suffix code and is either
from a 71 El Camino 350 auto trans 245 HP with a 2 barrel carb or it's a standard trans police / taxi 245 HP with a 2 barrel carb. I can't believe they even made
standard trans police or taxis.
Is the
above correct....? If so any way for me
to tell which vehicle this engine came out of maybe from a plant code or
such....?
